About Acupuncture
The aim of acupuncture is to increase both your quality of life and ability to function in day-to-day living. It's a health-care modality that has flourished in China for centuries and is widely used in Europe and Asia while gaining wider acceptance in the U.S. Acupuncture considers you as a whole, not just a conglomerate of symptoms and works to strengthen body, mind and spirit. Used as preventive medicine, studies have shown that acupuncture boosts the immune system and increases sensory awareness.
How Acupuncture Works
Acupuncture uses the laws of nature to ensure the smooth flow of qi (chi) or life force energy. Very thin, sterile, disposable needles are inserted on selected points to stimulate and direct the energy flow. Pain or illness happens when the flow of energy is stuck, excessive, deficient or rebellious (going the wrong way). As long as the energy pathways (meridians) are free-flowing, health is maintained. Some conditions that respond well to acupuncture include headaches/migraine, stroke residuals, TMJ pain, Bell's palsy, allergies, sinusitis, sprains/strains, arthritis, neck/back pain, anxiety, infertility, menstrual disorders, tinnitus and many more. Length of treatment depends on the severity and duration of the condition, since every person and condition is unique.

She is a NADA certified Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist and has worked with many chemically dependent individuals using the 5-needle protocol. Marianne states "an educated consumer is the best consumer. Choose from the best of both worlds of eastern and western medicine to be well and live well. Live your best life right now!"
